Real-time assessment of impact of changes in patient management
With the focus on “choose smart” and a political aim to change management of patients at a fast pace, real-time monitoring on how these changes impact outcomes for patients in terms of overall survival, duration of hospital admissions, health care usage (including prescription drugs, out-patient visits, blood tests etc) and adverse events are warranted.
Background
With the Data Analysis Platform providing real time data from Sundhedsplatformen and a proof-of-concept way to automatize reporting at individual patient level into Sundhedsplatformen and at population level into the data reports for leaderships at the hospital, it is now feasi-ble to develop real time reporting of outcome upon changes in patient management. Thus, it is suggested to have students develop such reporting within the Power BI platform implemented for leaderships at the hospital based on data from the Data Analysis Platform.
Examples of changes in patient management (many more can be identified): Out-patient treatment with iv antibiotics of infections, management of patients by minSP questionaries (Patient Reported Outcomes, PRO) instead of out-patient visits, change from immunoglobulin replacement therapy to prophylactic antibiotics for patients with low IgG and infections, change from EWS to clinical EWS.
