International Surgical Summer School
The summer school represented a unique opportunity for students of medicine to develop their surgical skills through innovative, hands-on simulation training. The summer course will not be running again in 2019 and onward.
Denmark is a global leader in the field of surgical training using simulation machines. Therefore, CHI is developing and establishing a summer school based on this unique form of training. The summer school is especially meant to attract international, but also Danish students of medicine from the region, who will gain the latest knowledge on and a chance to undergo surgical training using simulation machines. This is unique in the world of medicine, where most surgical training is undertaken through apprenticeship. The improved technique and practical experience resulting from the simulation will give the participants an advantage over other applicants for surgical specialist programmes.
Summer school will not run again
The grant for running the surgical summer course has expired, so the summer course ran for the last time in 2018.
Participants received ECTS credits for completing the summer school, which was offered by the University of Copenhagen.
